New Testament Bible Prophecy
of the end times:
The Words of Jesus regarding the
last days.
Luke 21:11 "And great earthquakes shall be in diverse
places, and
famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from
heaven"
Prophecy of the end times:
Mark 13:8
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in diverse places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
Mark 13:28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and
puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near:
Mark 13:29 So you in like manner, when you shall see these things come to pass, know that it is
even at the doors.
Mark 13:30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
Are we in the beginning of the time of Tribulation spoken of in the Bible?
I believe we are living in the Times of Sorrows that Jesus spoke of. If you don't believe me, believe Jesus. Or did Jesus give "earthquakes in divers places" as one of the signs of the end times just as casual rhetoric?
Can you discern that which is
taking place as being from the Hand of God? Jesus
did not say that everyone would recognize the last days, He said only those that had
the guidance of the Holy Spirit would have "eyes to see and ears to hear" and would know what was
taking place around them. Do you have eyes to see and ears to hear? Are you
looking and hoping for the soon return of Jesus, or do you want all things to
remain the same in order that you may continue with your current life style?
Since the Tsunami of 2004, scientists have been watching the recent increase of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions in the Far East very closely. They've found that during the three year period ending in 2005 when the study was conducted, the incidence of underwater quakes and volcanic eruptions had increased by 88% over the norm, while continental earthquakes had gone up by 62%. In a single four month period the earth experienced the three largest earthquakes in the last two hundred years. Most of this increased activity came in the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire, a chain of 160 active volcanoes stretching from the East Asia rim to the West Coast of the Americas.
The USGS
estimates that, since 1900, there have been an average of
21 major earthquakes (magnitude 7.0-7.9) and one great
earthquake (magnitude 8.0 or greater) per year, and that
this average has been relatively stable.
Note:
Regarding the above scripture (Mark 13:30): According to
the U.S. government National Center for Heath
(NCHS) the average life expectancy "of one generation"
today (2011) is 70 years. It is my belief that the
prophetic time clock of one generation began in 1948 when
the Jews began the return to their homeland. The average
life expectancy of 70 years for those that were born in
1948 will be over in 2018. Seven years to go as of 2011.
The
tribulation lasts a period of seven years. 3 1/2 years
into the tribulation Jesus removes His elect, the
Christians, in order they may not face the Wrath of God
during the final Seven Bowl Judgments on earth.
At the end of the Seven Year Tribulation period Christ
Jesus returns to earth to begin His 1000 year reign.

"Major earthquakes are unusual in southern Africa.
It's a significant and unexpected earthquake in this region," William Leith of the United States Geological Survey told Reuters.
At least two Mozambicans have died and 13 injured, as an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 shook southern Africa. The quake struck central Mozambique at midnight local time and was also felt in several
neighboring countries including Zimbabwe and South Africa.
The two dead were a child and a sick person in the town of Espungabero in Manica province near the
epicenter. Cities escaped serious damage.
Traditional houses collapsed in Espungabero says the BBC's Jose
Tembe. Further south in the capital, Maputo, one resident living on the 24th floor of a block of flats said he woke to find his building swaying.
Fifteen people in the city were injured, most of them while trying to get out of buildings in panic.

Following a minor earthquake a school and an estimated 500 houses in the village of Guinsaugon

located in St Bernard on the southern part of Leyte. Red Cross and military officials said between 1,500 and 2,500 might be buried in the mud.
Rescuers, struggling waist-deep through thick mud, have called off their search, fearing further slides.
The school that was completely buried had 246 students registered, and seven teachers.
Richard Gordon, chairman of the Philippine Red Cross, speaking in Geneva, said,
"This could rise to tragic proportions. We're still hoping this is not the case... It's impossible to predict what nature will do." |
